Core Belief

Salvation Through Jesus Christ

Salvation is deliverance from spiritual death and enslavement by sin. God provides salvation for all who believe and accept His free offer of forgiveness. Mankind’s only hope of redemption from the fallen sinful state is through the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son–blood that was shed as Jesus died on the cross. [The account of the crucifixion of Jesus is recounted by four of His contemporaries: Matthew (chapter 27), Mark (chapter 15), Luke (chapter 23), and John (chapter 19).] (Luke 24:47; John 3:3,16,17; Rom. 8:16; 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8,9; 4:24; Titus 2:11-12; 3:5-7)

Divine Healing

Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers. (Isa. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:16,17; James 5:14-16)

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and therefore should expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all believers in the early Christian church. With the experience comes the provision of power for victorious Christian living and productive service. It also provides believers with specific spiritual gifts for more effective ministry. The baptism of Christians in the Holy Spirit is accompanied by the initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues (unlearned languages) as the Spirit of God gives them audible expression. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4,8; 2:4; 8:12-17; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; 1 Cor. 12:1-31)

The Second Coming of Christ

All Christians who have died will one day rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air. Christians who have not yet died will be raptured or caught up with them, to be with the Lord. Then Christians of all ages will live with God forever. The scriptural truth of the Lord’s soon return is "the blessed hope". (Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13)

Fearfully And Wonderfully Made (Psalms 139:13-16) Pastor Suggs.

Psalms 139 focuses on the greatness of God.

God formed man who is awesomely made.

 The awesomeness of man.

His body: animated by the spirit placed there by God.

His mind: A thinking, creative being.

His spirit joined with the body is a living soul able to communicate with God and man.

Consider what man has done:

Not long after men rejected God, they united themselves against God

saying we will build a city and a tower to heaven (Gen 11:1-10).

They followed Satan leadership in rebellion against God.

The nations take counsel together against God Psa. 2:1-3 to separate from God.

But Christ said in John 15:5 w/o me you can do nothing.

What it is means to be created in the image of God.

Living Soul able to unite or integrate with other like sugar dissolving in water.

God’s intent is for believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit (HS) Act 1:4, 2:4; Rom 8:9.

The Holy Spirit comes bearing gifts that enable believers to exercise divine abilities in the earth (1 Cor. 12-14; Eph 4:7-16).

Worship: But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will

worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23f).

Armor of God Eph 6:10 to fit with spirits in the spiritAs a follow-on

message, one day Satan will be incarnated in the earth and man will

accept him as captain and organize against God in a final rebellion.  ______________________________________________________

Credentials

Read Amos 7:1 through 9:15

“I’m just a shepherd and a fig picker,” protested Amos, fending off accusations that he was a professional prophet—just in it for the money and prestige. We don’t know how willingly Amos prophesied, but we do know that many men in Scripture were reluctant to follow God’s call. Think of Moses, Gideon, and Jonah. Two of them did not feel qualified, and all of them questioned God’s wisdom in assigning them their respective tasks.

I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of sycamore-fig trees. But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me, “Go, prophesy to my people Israel” (Amos 7:14,15).

God often chooses the most unlikely candidate to do His will—often someone without the official credentials needed for the task. God often uses an individual with an unlikely skill set for the work at hand.

Don’t let your own insecurities keep you from being used by God. You might not feel qualified to do what God is calling you to do, but if you put your trust in Him you might just see Him do something wonderful.

Challenge for Today: Are you willing to step outside the bounds of your résumé to serve God?
